Litemoon will again be amongst the Presenting Sponsors of the St. Maarten Heineken Regatta (2011)! This sailing event is the largest in the Caribbean and the Website is their main international communication and information tool. (www.heinekenregatta.com)Six years ago we started developing the Regatta Website which has accumulated a huge database going back until the year 2002.
www.heinekenregatta.com integrates extensive Video and Photo coverage, Audio News, a Webcam, a pass word protected Login-System for the Press with a down-loadable Media Kit, News Feed like Weather Forecast and Event Countdown (the site further features a registration and result system which are plug-ins by third parties). The system we use for the Heineken Regatta Website is self-editable, and in reality four people are often updating the Website simultaneously.
Initially we also integrated a Crew Forum in the regatta Website, which we developed last year into a new Web Portal, called www.gocrew.net. Gocrew.net is a free community website made to connect regattas and sailors. The website is the official Crew Forum of the Heineken Regatta and linked to various other events like the Grenada Sailing Festival.
Every member of Gocrew.net can easily communicate with other members, send emails without revealing own address and start his own blog. The system features like a Google locator, direct messaging, photo and YouTube video posting.
In 2011, the Heineken Regatta will be in its 31st year and will take place from March 3-6. The regatta has achieved world status as a first class sailing event with over 240 participanting boats in 2010. With over 32 different nationalities present and approximately 3000 sailors gracing our shores, it is the most important event on St. Maarten.
